The PortsWood Hotel (located on the same premises as its brother hotel, The Commodore Hotel)
is an excellent hotel for those looking for good priced, "not-too-over-the-top" hotel accommodation within the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. The structure was originally built as a convict station, but after a complete revamp The PortsWood Hotel is a location where one would far rather extend their stay!

The PortsWood hotel is located superbly on the site of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront near the foothills of Signal Hill and the Harbour area. The entrance of The PortsWood is a mere minute's walk from the entrance of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. World class beaches are 15 minutes away from the hotel and one is literally 5 minutes away from the City Centre and all the main attractions
of the Mother City.

The PortsWood offers Standard rooms which are decorated in a nautical style. The rooms are slightly smaller than the rooms at their brother hotel, The Commodore. There is a choice of twin or double beds in the rooms. Each room is ideal for business travelers with all the right amenities.

Mini-Suites
The PortsWood offers 9 Mini-Suites which are bright and spacious and decorated in a nautical style. The Mini-suites are located on the top floor of the hotel and offer larger bathroom and a small lounge area with seating.

Guests of The Portswood or The Commodore Hotels have the use of facilities of both hotels while they are patrons of the hotels. There are swimming pools located at both hotels, Gymnasium, Sauna, Steam room and Wellness Centre at The Commodore. The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is minutes away, restaurants, shopping, an aquarium and a variety of fun-filled activities.

The Guest relations desk situated in the lobby of either hotel are more than happy to help with area orientations, tour reservations, sports & cultural events reservations, holiday itineraries and adventures of any sort!

The Travel desk at either hotel is more than capable of organizing all of your travel requirements, whatever and wherever they may be!

Light meals are also served on the terrace at The PortsWood Hotel from the morning till the evening. The Cocktail Bar at the hotel is open from the morning until evening too. The Quarterdeck Restaurant at the Portswood has seating 75 persons. This lovely restaurant offers a buffet breakfast and comprehensive a la carte menu specializing in Cape Malay Cuisine.

The PortsWood Hotel does not have facilities for functions and events, besides those which can be held at the Quarterdeck Restaurant. Conferencing and events facilities are located at and shared with The Commodore Hotel.
